About The Event
Short-form web series project pitch session, September 25, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Afromusée, 533 Ontario East, Montreal
The Need
Between September 14 and November 3, 2024, the Festwave Institute of the Fabienne Colas Foundation, in collaboration with the Society of Radio, Television and Cinema Authors (SARTEC), offered eight young Black screenwriters the opportunity to participate in a 42-hour advanced workshop in short-form web series writing.
They now feel ready to present their projects to producers in the hope of moving on to the next stage: seeking broadcasters and funding; eventual production of their series.
As part of its Black Market, the Montreal International Black Film Festival gives them the opportunity to do so in public. The “pitches,” lasting seven minutes, will be followed by a ten-minute individual meeting with each of the producers present (speed dating).
During the month of September, on dates to be determined, participants will benefit from individual pitch training provided by Julie Tremblay-Sauvé.
