For the mid-career professional
The Academy builds on our wildly successful Being Black in Canada’s emerging filmmaker Incubator program to develop a dedicated training and mentorship program that will target the intermediate, mid-career professional.
Three month intensives and longer
Our Accelerator Program will be an intensive, three-month program for Black Film Professionals where they will develop their industry skills and business acumen. Small virtual class sizes ensure participants will be provided a supportive safe space and instruction informed by their specific needs and experiences.
What we are working on developing
- Interactive online training sessions with top industry and business professionals
- One-on-one training and skill-share sessions with professionals and business consultants
- Resources and training developed specifically for Black women and LGBTQ2+ community members in the TV and film industry
- Virtual group discussions
- Access to the curated video library of masterclasses, workshops, and lectures
- Access to exclusive online meet-ups and virtual filmmaking events
- Inclusion in our Connector Program, where each participant is paired with a mentor in the industry, who then introduces the participant to three more industry professionals
